Practice Overview
Kurt Lewin, the father of social psychology, once described the ideal relationship between social psychological research and “real world” social issues as “No action without research and no research without action.”
Founded by Morton Deutsch in 1986, the MD-ICCCR is committed to:
- Bridging the gap between research and theory on cooperation and conflict and the daily challenges of managing and resolving conflict faced by practitioners (e.g., educators; civil servants; negotiators and mediators; managers and consultants.)
- Using evidence-based knowledge to influence social issues and improve quality of life
- Applying the experiential knowledge of practitioners to informing new research and theory development.
