Due to travel restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, AC4 has restructured its Graduate Student Fellowship to adapt to the current situation. Providing funding for the innovative and interdisciplinary research projects on peace, conflict, and sustainability is one of the real highlights of our work at AC4, and we are pleased to be able to continue to offer this support to graduate students across Columbia University.

The 2021 AC4 Graduate Fellowships will fund eligible research costs or conference attendance costs for a limited number of Columbia University graduate students between April 2021 – December 2021. We are soliciting fellowships applications in each of the two categories:

Research Awards
AC4 will provide research funds of up to $1000 for qualified interdisciplinary research that is able to be conducted remotely and without travel. Projects should be focused on peace, conflict, sustainability, and/or social justice and can include projects in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts. Funds can go towards research material expenses including but not limited to study participant incentives, software, digital project hosting, supplies for arts or humanities projects, etc.

Conference Awards
AC4 will cover registration fees of up to $250 USD for virtual conference attendance for students presenting research related to AC4’s mission of supporting interdisciplinary research themes on peace, conflict, and social justice, as well as on AC4’s signature project themes. Preference will be given to students with financial need and/or from historically underrepresented groups in academia.
